Dear Members,

Autumn has given way to winter, the lights are twinkling in the downtown and the frigid temperatures have made us chase down our scarves. As we move into the holiday season though, we are all reminded that we are challenged as a nation, state and community. Joblessness continues to rise, families continue to struggle and businesses are fighting through the season. At the Chamber, we remain thankful for your Membership, but also want to remind everyone that we can help each other through these days.

Each of us has an opportunity to help our fellow Members by using their businesses, or simply providing the warmth of a friendly conversation. The Chamber is a great source of knowledge, expertise and support. Over the next few months, the Chamber is going to continue to work to remind ourselves to use Members and to be positive about our future.

One example is our “Member to Member in December” promotion. You can access the discounts offered on the Chamber’s website, www.naperville.net. Also, anytime of day, you can use our online business directory to find a member. We encourage every Member to load in their 50 word description so that it’s easy for customers to find your listing.

It is all too easy to fall into the negativity of this difficult time. It seems like we all know too many people who have been negatively impacted by this recession. Together we can work to bring better times.

I want to thank everyone who has already signed up for our Inaugural Gala on January 15. This year’s event will be another fantastic opportunity to mix, mingle and shine in the company of the best of our business community.
