The last major event for our 2009-10 fiscal year, the Chamber Golf Outing, was
held late last month at the Cress Creek Country Club. After what seemed like a
week of rain, more rain and still more rain, we couldn’t have asked for better
weather for a golf outing in late June. I’d like to take this opportunity to
thank our sponsors for the golf outing and for all our major events, as well as
everyone who attended. These events are very important to the success of our
Chamber and without your support and participation our Chamber would not be able
to deliver the quality programs and services that we do.
I had the opportunity to be at the 3rd hole for the entire golf
outing participating in a “Beat the Chairman” closest to the pin contest. A big
thanks to those of you who let me win (trust me, it wasn’t my skill), and a
special thanks to those who beat me, but graciously donated your winnings back
to the Chamber.
It was fun to be able to take part in the “game,” but it was an
especially great opportunity for me to meet and thank so many of you personally
for your membership and support. I saw many old friends and many new faces, and
(as should be the case at any Chamber event) made a few new business contacts.
The Chamber is a place for you to connect with one another and
build the relationships that are critical to succeeding in business. In this
week’s Current, there is a
story about how
South TEAM II recently adopted one of our not-for-profit Members. This is
just one of many examples of how our Members step up in our community. To all of
the TEAMs, way to go, you each are doing so many great things for one another
and the community.
I hope that all of you enjoyed the outing as much as I did and
look forward to seeing you again at another Chamber event soon.
