PNC Bank Steps Forward to Help Community Entrepreneurs

PNC Bank has long supported job creation and small businesses in our community by underwriting the entrepreneurial scholarship program with the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The entrepreneurial scholarship program is an innovative partnership between PNC Bank and the Chamber. Through the scholarship, more than 10 companies have been given their first year of Chamber membership at no cost. This enables growing companies and small businesses to get a foot in the door and get their word out to the community.

“When PNC Bank came up with the idea, I wondered why we hadn’t thought of this before,” said John Schmitt, president & CEO, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. “In this tough economy, everyone talks about helping small businesses grow—PNC Bank really stepped forward and did something, providing a great resource to the next generation of business leaders.”

Members enrolled in the entrepreneurial scholarship program are granted a basic-level Chamber membership for one year. During this year, scholarship recipients have full access to all Member benefits. After the company’s first year of marketing their business through the Chamber and participating in our many events, they are invited to renew their membership.

PNC Bank continuously enrolls new businesses in the entrepreneurial scholarship program. At any given time, 10 area businesses are benefitting from the scholarship program. For more information on the entrepreneurial scholarship program, contact Barry Poll, vice president, sales & marketing, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, at 630-544-3386.

As a proud Chamber Member and part of the prestigious Chairman’s Circle, PNC Bank’s top-level support enables the Chamber to offer valuable products and services for its Members as well as leadership for the business community.
