Thank you, thank you, thank you! We received overwhelming interest in nominating businesses for this year’s Small Business of the Year Award. Though I have a suspicion this year’s panel of judges might disagree with me - by nominating so many outstanding businesses, you’ve made their job much more difficult.

We’re only a few weeks away from the Small Business of the Year Awards and we’re on pace to have one of the largest ceremonies in several years. This year marks the 15th year of the program and we hope you’ll join us for our celebration of the small business community.

I certainly don’t envy the task of this year’s judges. We have an outstanding class of small businesses who are competing for this year’s award. So while their work continues on, the tabulations are safely secured in the Chamber’s impenetrable vault located somewhere in downtown Naperville.

The Chamber’s staff is working with the brand new Marriott Chicago Naperville to create an atmosphere of glitz and glamor, worthy of the outstanding businesses we will honor at this year’s ceremony. Being at Naperville’s newest hotel will certainly add some new excitement to the evening gala.

All that’s left is for you to make your reservation for this year’s ceremony. On Friday, May 18 we will name the 15th winner of the Small Business of the Year Award. The black-tie optional gala event is your opportunity to network and help celebrate the success of our small business community.

Winning the award is a tremendous honor. Having the opportunity to be named the Chamber’s top small business in front a crowd of several hundred of your peers makes the moment that much more special.

In addition, we also like to recognize an outstanding nonprofit business for their tremendous efforts to give back to the community. Showing our appreciation for the businesses and individuals that devote so much of their time to improving our community is the least we can do to ensure the giving spirit endures.
