The Chamber would like to congratulate Ashley Smith on her recent accomplishment of graduating from North Central College. Smith has been an intern with the Chamber since fall of 2011 while she completed her final year of study. As an intern, Smith helped manage and update the Chamber’s communication portfolio and will take an expanded role at the Chamber.

“Balancing attending North Central College and interning with us is good preparation for the rigors of the Chamber,” said interim president and CEO, Tami Andrew. “We’re very excited Ashley has joined us and we know she will be a great addition to our team.”

Upon graduation Smith accepted the position of website coordinator and will take responsibility for managing the Chamber’s website, newsletters, print collateral and other communications.

Smith, originally from Jacksonville, Ill. is excited about the opportunity to work full-time at the Chamber and get to know the many Members who make this Chamber stand out from the rest.

“I’m very excited to join the team at the Chamber who were so supportive and helpful during my college studies. I feel like the Chamber has already helped to give me a great start as a young professional and I am very anxious to dig in and experience all of the great things the Chamber stands for.”

In regards to what she hopes to accomplish, she says, “Making the Chamber’s website a more valuable resource for our Members and the community is my top priority.”
