The new officers of the Naperville Public Library Board of Trustees are Jeff Davis, president; Sandy Benson, vice president; and Ron C. Davidson, secretary. They were installed at the Library’s June board meeting.
The new Library Board President, Jeff Davis, is Vice President, Sales Administration & Marketing, with Phoenix Closures, Inc., a Naperville based manufacturer of plastic caps and closures. His career in sales and marketing has taken him from Green Bay, WI, to Pittsburg, PA, to Atlanta, GA. Subsequently he was transferred back to Illinois and moved to Naperville in 1989. Davis is a graduate of North Central College and earned a MBA from DePaul University. Davis has been a coach, Cub Scout Den Leader, and has served on 3 different referendum committees for Indian Prairie School District #204. He was appointed to that School Board in 2000 and served until 2003. Davis also served on the Naperville Area Chamber’s Board of Directors from 2003 – 2006 and chaired the Legislative Committee. A member of the Rotary Club of Naperville since 2005, he left to start the Rotary Club of Naperville South in 2008 where he served as president from 2010-2011. He is also a member of the Naperville Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (NACPAC) and served as President from 2009-2011.
The new Vice President, Sandy Benson, is the Director of Community & Government Relations for Edward Hospital & Health Services. An active community leader, Benson sits on the boards of the Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center and Naper Settlement, and currently participates in School District 203’s Education Foundation OfficeMax Teacher Innovator Committee and is chair of the Silent Samaritan Committee of Samaritan Interfaith. She is also a Naperville Noon Rotary Club member and a trustee of the Naperville Parks Foundation. She was the recipient of the Influential Women in Business Award, 2007, and the Naperville Jaycees Distinguished Service Award in Religion, 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Elmhurst College in Business Administration.
The new Secretary, Ron C. Davidson, is the First Vice President with Naperville Bank & Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank. He is actively involved in the community, and has served on the boards of DuPage PADS and the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. Davidson is currently serving as Finance Committee Chair on the Naperville Elderly Homes Board, and as Chairman on the Naperville CAPS (Citizens Appreciate Public Safety) Board. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Naperville. Davidson is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, with a degree in Finance. He and his family have resided in Naperville since 2002.
