I am thrilled to announce that we have exceeded our initial goal for our journey to China’s Golden Route! With over 20 travelers already signed on, we still have plenty of room for more. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop new relationships or solidify existing ones with your fellow members and the community. The Chamber is fully committed to helping our members become better acquainted both professionally and personally to create a unique, tight-knit business community. By having members and the community share this experience, it will only serve to strengthen the connections the Chamber values so highly.

China is becoming a cornerstone of international business. It is essential for us to learn as much as we can about the culture and business climate to better understand how we can work with them and take advantage of this lucrative market. The Chamber, along with Nexus Holidays, have arranged for travelers to not only see historic sites but also visit China’s modern, bustling centers of industry. It is because of the special opportunities China has to offer that we chose it for our first trip overseas.

Along the Golden Route, you’ll travel to three of China’s most prominent and historic cities; Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai. In Beijing, you’ll see Tiananmen Square and step inside the Forbidden City, where 24 emperors resided for 500 years. In Xi’an, you’ll see the Great Wall and the famous Terra Cotta Warriors. Thousands of soldiers, horses and weapons were created centuries ago to depict the first Chinese emperor’s armies and were only recently discovered and restored. In Shanghai, you’ll get to see one of China’s oldest industries in action at a silk spinning mill, and enjoy the legendary feats of a Chinese acrobatic show.

Just as a reminder, the cost is $2799 for the 10-day journey. This includes all airfare, travel visa, accommodations, tours, entry to points of interest, and breakfast lunch and dinner for the duration of the trip. This also includes an English-speaking guide and all transportation between sites and cities. If you are a solo traveler, the cost is only an additional $290 for single occupancy. We will be traveling Friday Oct. 16 through Saturday Nov. 3. The last day to sign up and submit your $500 deposit is Saturday, July 28.
