The Chamber's Board of Directors has approved a slate of nominees for the open board positions beginning Jan. 1, 2013. The board has also designated the Nov. 19 General Membership Luncheon as the Annual Meeting of the membership. Eligible nominees will be voted on by Members in attendance at the luncheon.

The nominating committee received dozens of applications for the open board positions. After reviewing credentials and conducting interviews with each applicant, the nominating committee recommended eight candidates. The eight Member nominees are:

Tom Kallay, Nicor Gas
Mike Squire, North Central College
Mike Stengle, Sequoia General Contracting
Adam Russo, Edgewood Clinical Services
Tom Okarma, Vantage Point
Karyn Glogowski, Delta Dental
Kimberly Rodgers, DeSio, Franzen & Associates
Deena Giordano Ullom, Nyberg & Cassioppi

This marks the first time that existing board Members have been selected for a second term. Allowing board members to serve consecutive terms was a change in the bylaws ratified by Members in 2011. Nominees Kallay and Squire have been recommended to serve consecutive three-year terms.

The nominating committee and board recommend approval of this slate of nominees.

Additionally, Tom Kallay of Nicor Gas, has been recommended for the 2013 board chair position. In accordance with the bylaws, Kallay and other board officers will be elected by the board later this year.
