Water Commission Reform Legislation And You
Last week the Illinois House voted 111-1-3 to pass SB 580, legislation that reforms the DuPage Water Commission. The bill was amended in the House and has been scheduled for a concurrence vote in the Senate this week.
The legislation as passed by the House includes a provision that calls for the elimination of the ¼% sales tax imposed by the DuPage Water Commission effective June 1, 2016, unless voters approve a new referendum.
