The Green Leadership Council (GLC) will host “The
Future of Water” June 7—a presentation that explores the importance of water and
how businesses can efficiently and sustainably manage their water consumption.
Did you know the United States uses more water in
four days than the world does oil in one year?
Emilio Tenuta, director of corporate sustainability
and branding at Nalco Company, will speak about the past, present and future of
water as a resource, as well as the importance of water conservation for
businesses.
Emilio has worked at Nalco for 27 years and is
responsible for linking Nalco’s brand strategy with the sustainable solutions
offered to more than 50,000 Nalco customers in more than 150 countries. He
earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in Eau
Claire, Wis., and a master’s in business administration from Northwestern
University Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, Ill.
Nalco is a Chamber Member
and is headquartered in Naperville. It is the world’s largest sustainability
services company, focused on industrial water, energy and air applications. They
help businesses reduce energy, water and other natural-resource consumption,
minimizing environmental releases while boosting the bottom line. Nalco is
currently working with the World Wildlife Fund’s Alliance for Water Stewardship
program to develop best practices for water conservation.
“The Future of Water”
takes place June 7 at the Chamber Conference Room A from 7:30-9 a.m.
