Doing Nothing to Achieve More - J. Keith Murnighan

The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and Anderson’s Bookshop invites you to attend the General Membership Luncheon Monday, July 23, for a presentation on a novel idea: doing nothing!

Distinguished author and Kellogg School of Management professor J. Keith Murnighan will discuss the subject of his latest book, “DO NOTHING!: How to Stop Overmanaging and Become a Great Leader”. Managers are often guilty of taking on too much work. Whether it’s the stress of making sure the job gets done correctly and on time, or the inability to properly delegate, managers simply work too much! Managers are leaders, and as such they are at their best when they are making the key decisions, planning strategies and helping employees do their jobs better.

Murnighan will talk about how doing nothing can actually add to a company’s success. He will discuss the key ways in which letting employees do more will create a more organized and productive business.

The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chicago Marriott Naperville, located at 1801 Naper Boulevard in Naperville.

Seating is limited, so preregistration is strongly encouraged. Cost to attend is $25 for Chamber Members, $30 at the door, and $35 for nonmembers.

To register or for more information, please contact Lisa Spaeth at 630-544-3365

About The Author Partnership
The Chamber is pleased to announce a new partnership with downtown Naperville’s own award-winning Anderson’s Bookshop, to bring compelling and exciting authors to speak at various Chamber events. The goal is to provide Chamber Members and the community with interesting stories, told by the authors that created them. Each author and story has been carefully selected to exemplify the Chamber’s goals to educate, create new experiences and provide distinct programs for its Members. This partnership would not be possible without the talented staff of Anderson’s Bookshop.
