Announcing the newest offering from the Business Resource Network: The Business Book Club! We’ll be meeting once each quarter to discuss a variety of business books – from the latest titles to those old classics you’ve always wanted to read. It’s free to join, and all meetings will be held at the Nichols library in downtown Naperville. Just bring a lunch and join the conversation!
We’re launching the Business Book Club with Do Nothing: How to Stop Overmanaging and Become a Great Leader by Chicago author J. Keith Murnighan, who is also the guest speaker at the Chamber’s General Membership Luncheon on July 23.
Glen Tullman, CEO of Allscripts, describes the book by saying, “Murnighan has identified that … the best leaders today and in the future will look more like basketball coaches than great players, rarely engaging in the day-to-day delivery but more often focused on strategy and doing little other than letting great players run with the ball.”
The book is available at local bookstores and the Naperville library. Bring a bag lunch and sit down with friends and colleagues to talk about a book that has been called “among the most imaginative, fun and useful leadership books ever published”!
