Dear Chairman Landry:

I am writing today to inform you that the Board of Directors voted that the Naperville Area
Chamber of Commerce endorse the College of DuPage’s referendum requesting authority to
undertake $168 million in capital improvement projects.

This endorsement comes after the Chamber formed a taskforce and conducted thorough
research on the issue. In our analysis, continuing to invest in College of DuPage is wise and
prudent policy that will provide for future economic growth and prosperity.

Dear Legislative Committee and Board of Directors:

At the September 15 Legislative Committee, representatives from COD made a presentation about a referenda question on the November ballot. Following COD’s presentation, members of the Legislative Committee raised a number of questions and concerns regarding the referenda question and underlying plans. The Committee formed a Taskforce to conduct further research and analysis on the issue. The Taskforce, though not unanimous, recommends that the Legislative Committee and Chamber endorse the referenda question and support the capital improvement program at College of DuPage.
