Mission Statement: Members of the South Team meet regularly to build an ongoing forum of trust, creative alliances, exchange leads, network and share strategies for building their businesses.
About the South Team: In 2002, the South Team was created by the Naperville Chamber members who wanted to build a strong network of referral
sources. The team's objective is to develop new, profitable business for its members through referrals and/or recommendations by members to each other.
Our team's success is contributed to the relationships our members have with one another inside and outside of our regular scheduled meetings. To encourage camaraderie and relationship-building, we conduct a "Duo Exercise" monthly, which ensures our members are having at least two one-on-one meetings with their fellow members. We also provide opportunities for members to gather at quarterly socials and our birthday celebrations. Since 2004 , our team has participated in the Annual Naperville Bed Races, another great team-building exercise.
Meeting Time: The first and third Thursday of each month from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (optional networking until 10:00 a.m) at Naperville Bank and Trust, 555 Ft. Hill Drive, 2nd Floor Community Room, Naperville, IL 60540. Please check the Calendar of Events or call (630) 355-4141 to confirm date, time and location.

Community: The South Team is passionate about serving our beloved community. Every year, our team adopts a not-for-profit organization that needs volunteer and/or financial support. Additionally, we've partnered alongside Our Children's Homestead, a Foster Agency in Naperville, to voluntarily buy gifts from the children's "wish-lists" so that they may have a memorable Christmas.
Educational Component/Speakers for the Group: Twice a year we replace our regular meetings with an educational speaker from the Speaker's Bureau. This year, Rick Lochner from RPC Leadership will speak in March on "Time Management" and Diane Overgard from 45 Degrees will present in September on "Maximizing Your Greatest Asset for Performance."
New Member Process: Visitors may attend 2 meetings before officially joining the South Team. At the first meeting, the member will receive a Welcome Packet with information on the group, including the by-laws, list of members, activities of the group, and an instructional outline for a Craft Talk. After the 2nd meeting, if the visitor chooses to join the group, the group will vote, via email, as to whether the visitor may join; the purpose of the vote is to decipher if there's a conflict of interest between the visitor's and another member's occupations since the South Team allows only one individual from each profession. Shortly after a new member joins, the Chair and/or Chair-Elect will schedule a time to meet for coffee with the new member in order to get the member acquainted with the group's operations and resources.
