Register to Vote Early!
Residents may register to vote at the City Clerk’s office in the
Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., between
8 a.m. and
5 p.m., Monday through Friday. You must be a United States
citizen, age 18 by the date of the next election and have
resided in the precinct at least 30 days by the date of the
next election. You will also need to provide two pieces of
identification, at least one of which must show your current
address. Naturalized citizens will need to provide the
court, date and city of your naturalization. Residents who
move within the county and hold a current registration card
can change their registration by mail.
By registering, residents are eligible to vote in local, national,
state, county, township, and park and school district
elections. State law prohibits the acceptance of new
registrations and changes of address in the 28-day period
before an election or for two days after an election.
Registration reopens two days after an election.
