Staying Involved and Active Isn't an Option...It's Essential
By

I had the pleasure as serving as the Chair of the
Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce's Legislative
Committee for 2006 and on the NACPAC Board of Directors.
During this time, I have seen the legislative committee
tackle a number of issues that would have impacted the
business community (some for the better, some for the
worse). Working on the business community's
behalf, on both the beneficial and the detrimental
proposals is where I think the least visible, but most
valuable benefit of Chamber Membership plays out.
Together we have built the Chamber to serve as our steward of
the business community in Naperville. We've taken
the step of creating the Naperville Area Chamber
Political Action Committee (NACPAC) to insure that Members' interests are
being explained and represented to candidates and elected officials.
It's not enough just to bemoan bad policy, we have honor
our responsibility and take the necessary steps to hold
our officials accountable for their decisions, both the
good and the bad, which impact the business community.
NACPAC seeks to build a city council and state
legislative delegation filled with individuals who will
take the time to work with us when policy decisions need
to be made and act as consensus builders when we need an
effective and intelligent voice within the local,
regional or state government.
If all this sounds good to you, you may be wondering
right about now, "How do I get involved with NACPAC?"
That's the easy part. If you are a NACC member in good
standing, you may join NACPAC for as little as $50.
Donations to NACPAC are not tax deductible.
Getting involved is the key to protecting the quality
of life and the business climate in the Naperville area.
Challenge yourself to take that step towards
involvement.
Tell us why you support NACPAC. |
