Your Success is Our Business
At the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, we always put our Members first. It is our passion and a true honor to serve the business community. Hearing the success stories of our Members, makes us proud to do what we do.
As a Young Entrepreneur, the Chamber gave me instant access to other established businesses and people who were open to advising me as I develop my business. I've made great friends and great business partners through the chamber. It's helped me develop professionally and to build my business. Networking through the Chamber has opened the doors for many opportunities for me. I'm extremely grateful.

The relationships that I have formed within the Chamber has elevated my business within the community immensely since joining. I have been able to create my own go-to list of businesses to send my clients of quality Chamber Members to help their various needs. These relationships have helped to solidify my role as a trusted advisor to clients who know that they can count on the people that I refer for professional and quality service.

Networking is one of important pillars of growing your business. A few years ago, I lost a key account and needed to replace it with a new one to replace the lost sales. I attended a Chamber Business After Hours, and gave my card to a gentleman I had never met before. That evening when I went home, I felt I had not found a new lead and was discouraged. Three months later, a gentleman wrote me and asked if I would assist in creating a few awards for his company. Six months later and six presentations later, I closed
one of the largest single sales of my career and I now have new account who orders throughout the year. The lead came from the gentleman I gave my card to at a Business After Hours.

The value that the Chamber has brought to me as the Executive Director for Project Help is learning from the other leaders of Not-for-Profit organizations that are also part of the Chamber, best practices and the collaborative possibilities. The speakers and topics are relevant to the work that Project Help is doing in the surrounding communities.

One of the greatest assets through which the Chamber provides value to my business is its Members themselves. The precept "Shop The Chamber" is widely communicated and subsequently adopted, which translates to Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Members looking FIRST to their fellow Members to fill a need; oftentimes at great benefit to both! This is a Membership that truly believes in supporting one another, and as a small business owner relying greatly on networking and referrals, it has been an absolute boon to ELLE Services, even in the short time since joining the NACC!

The first check that I wrote when I started my business was to the Naperville Chamber. I knew from my previous position and dealings with the Chamber that a Chamber Membership would pay huge dividends. There were two reasons behind my decision. First, the support structure that the Chamber provides is second to none. They have a full suite of services and events that focus on helping small businesses grow and become more profitable. Not a week goes by that I do not participate in some sort of Chamber event. Second, and this one is often overlooked, the Chamber is Naperville’s business community voice to our elected officials. They dedicate resources to make sure that our concerns are heard by the legislators in Springfield. We need that voice as too many of our elected officials fail to realize the key role small businesses play in our community. The Chamber makes sure that our voice is heard where it matters.

One of my favorite Chamber stories is when we had only been a member for one year. I joined the Ambassadors to meet new people and new businesses that were also joining the Chamber. I also knew that the Ambassadors were one of the most active groups in the Chamber and I wanted to part of that. Because I was an Ambassador I attended ribbon cuttings, ground breaking ceremonies and many Chamber functions. One of the ground breaking ceremonies I attended was Bill Jacobs new BMW and Mini location on Aurora Ave. Because of that, I meet key individuals from Bill Jacobs and we eventually sold them their new furniture. I may have never met the right individuals if I was not part of the Ambassadors. Being an active member of the Chamber does pay off!
