Every business and community leader should listen to his speech. All of us struggle with this from time to time. If your business isn’t leading and innovating, then what separates you? After you’ve come up with a brilliant idea, is it hard to bring it through to market?
We don’t strive to be middle of the road, we strive for greatness. Thank you, Bill Kottmann, for reminding us that we must think boldly and enact change with resolve. Nothing worth doing is easy, but if we work together we can all achieve more.
5th Avenue Development
Naperville City Council voted unanimously on July 17 to approve the 5th Avenue Concept Principles and direct Ryan Companies to initiate concept plan creation. Ryan Companies will now begin broad conceptual drawings, though it worth remembering that there is still no final decisions and there will be many more opportunities for community refinement.
Craft Distillery and Dispenser Permit
Naperville City Council also voted to approve two changes to the liquor code on July 17. First, they modified the code to allow for Craft Distilleries. Second, they approved the addition of the Dispenser Permit which will generate revenue for Naperville and allows patrons to pour alcohol from specially designed taps under trained Basset supervision.
The Illinois General Assembly is not currently in session. Spring Session Adjourned on May 31, 2018.
Workers’ Compensation Insurance
Gloria Jimenez from the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission recently stopped by the NACC offices to help inform employers of the requirement to carry workers’ compensation insurance in Illinois.
