Q: Why did you go into law?
A: The challenge. Also, the law is also real. While there are grey areas that may surround a particular case or set of facts, the law is tangible and unwavering. You can’t cut legal from your budget.
Q: What are your specialties?
A: I specialize in business and employment law. I enjoying working as a strategic partner with my clients assisting them to see business growth and development through the lens of legal compliance. I immensely enjoy my role of counselor with my clients, notably when I can feel, hear, or see the relief and sense of security provided to my clients.
Q: How do you balance your life as a working mother?
A: I refer to it was work/life integration. Never balanced. Mothers have the super power to shift from one task or role with the greatest of ease. We’re all flying through the air in our own circus.
Q: What advice do you say often to your kids?
A: Always be kind.
Q: What are the three top skills to successfully lead an organization?
A: Humor, flexibility, and allowing others to lead within your organization. It’s never a one-woman show.
Q: What advice would you give for other women in business?
A: It is all within your grasp. Don’t ever believe opportunities are only reserved to others. Find your mentors, your power partners, your allies. You don’t have to do it alone.
Q: What gets you excited about your work?
A: When you can feel, hear, or see the relief and sense of security provided to my clients through good counsel.
Q: “What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned along the way?”
A: The limitations we put on opportunities or growth are largely of our own making.
Q: Who do you most want to meet in the world?
A: Pope Francis and Hugh Jackman. ☺
