At the start of 2025, I’ve had the honor of meeting with several Members to discuss their goals with the NACC. These exciting conversations offer me the opportunity to understand our Member businesses and highlight tools and resources that may help make achieving those goals a little easier.
NACC Membership provides an invaluable opportunity for businesses, both large and small, to thrive in an increasingly competitive and interconnected market. However, the key to reaping the full benefits of Membership lies in actively engaging with the Chamber’s resources, programs, and community. Whether you’re a new Member or renewing your commitment to the NACC this year, here are actionable steps to ensure you’re working to move your business forward in 2025.
Leveraging Networking Opportunities
Networking is one of the top reasons for joining the NACC. While it’s not an exact science, here are some ways to make the most of our events:
Attend Regular Networking Events
The NACC hosts several events throughout the year, but some occur regularly (monthly or quarterly). These events offer a consistent opportunity to connect with other business owners. Check out these events coming up in January:
- Business Power Hour | Monthly Professional Development – Jan. 9
- Ribbon Cutting | Welcome New Businesses – Jan. 9
- Lunch with a Leader | Dine with a Local Leader – Jan. 21
Stay Connected Online
The biggest mistake I see people make is failing to bring business cards—or not following up with the connections they make. While events provide the opportunity to meet, consistent communication afterward is crucial. Forgot someone’s name? Search for them on LinkedIn! This platform allows professionals to stay connected, even if they change jobs, reinforcing that you represent not just a business but yourself.
Another great option is joining our Members-Only Facebook Group to ask questions and learn how others are maximizing their NACC benefits.
Make the Most of Marketing and Visibility Opportunities
NACC Membership can significantly enhance your brand’s visibility and credibility within the community. Here’s how to get noticed:
Maximize Your Listing in the Active Member Directory
Log in to the Member Info Hub and navigate to “My Directory Listing” to update your profile. Key areas to focus on include:
- Business Name & Contact Info (How can people reach you?)
- Logo Upload
- Business Description (What does your business do? What’s in it for the consumer/client?)
- Categories (Choose categories that best describe your business for targeted searches.)
- Keywords (List services or keywords, separated by commas, to optimize search results.)
Participate in Advertising and Sponsorship
If you’ve allocated marketing dollars to your NACC Membership this year, let’s strategize! Sponsoring events, sending exclusive e-blasts, or hosting a Chamber event at your location are excellent ways to showcase your business as an active NACC Member.
Stay tuned for updated advertising opportunities in early 2025!
Engage in Advocacy and Community Involvement
NACC Membership isn’t just about your business—it’s about contributing to the community. Here’s how to get involved:
Stay Informed on Local Policy and Legislation
The NACC represents Members at the state, local, and federal levels. If your business faces challenges, let us know! We can elevate feedback and work toward solutions for the community.
Need help identifying relevant issues? Contact our Government Affairs Manager, Neil Malone, to stay informed.
Volunteer on Committees
The NACC offers several committees that focus on different professional interests. Volunteering allows you to collaborate with other leaders, influence Chamber initiatives, and show your commitment to the Naperville community.
As I mentioned earlier, I love having these conversations with Members. While this article serves as a guide for engaging with the NACC in 2025, I understand that every business has unique needs and goals.
