By accessing www.naperville.net  you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected at www.naperville.net

The information collected from the various users of the NACC website allows the NACC to continually improve the user’s online experience, by making it easier and more enjoyable. The following identifies the types of information gathered:

Membership Code of Conduct

The NACC Membership Code of Conduct is applicable to all active NACC Members. View the NACC Membership Code of Conduct.

Site Usage Information

As is the case with many websites, the servers automatically collect IP addresses of web visitors, and may associate that IP address with the visitor’s domain name or Internet access provider.  The mobile optimized version of the NACC site provides data from or about the mobile phone or device that is used to access the site, including the type of device and mobile carrier.  The mobile version may also capture certain “clickstream data” pertaining to a visitor’s site usage.  Clickstream data includes, for example, but is not limited to, information about the user’s computer or device, web browser and operating system and their settings, the referring page that linked the user to the NACC site, the pages, content or ads viewed or clicked on during a visit and when and for how long a visitor does so, items downloaded, the next website visited when a visitor leaves the site, and any search terms entered on the site or a referral site.  If a visitor chooses to have a NACC password remembered when visiting a NACC website, cookies are utilized for this password related functionality. Cookies are pieces of data the user’s web browser stores on the visitor’s hard drive to enable the NACC systems to recognize the visitor and its browser. Most web browsers automatically accept these cookies, but will also allow the visitor to instruct the visitor’s browser to prevent the use of cookies. However, if this feature is disabled, the described password related functionality and certain other aspects of the NACC website may not function properly.

User Provided Information

The NACC may receive and store any information visitors enter on the NACC websites or is given to the NACC in any other way. At times, the NACC will specifically ask for information about a visitor when a visitor registers for or uses certain services, when you order a product, or when you join the NACC. The NACC may require certain information such as name, internet address or screen name, billing address, credit card number, or other required information to provide the requested service or product.

Information from Other Sources

To improve the personalization of the NACC’s service, it might receive/collect information from other sources and use it to supplement account information.

Do Not Track Disclosures

Some web browsers may transmit “do not track” (DNT) signals to the websites with which the user communicates.  Because of the differences in how web browsers incorporate and activate this feature it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether they even are aware of them.  Because there currently is no industry standard concerning what, if anything, websites should do when they receive such signals; the NACC currently does not change the tracking practices (which are explained in more detail under the Site Usage Information section above) in response to existing DNT settings in a visitor’s web browser.  If and when a final standard is established and accepted, the NACC will reassess how to respond to these signals.

The NACC’s third party partners, such as ad networks, web analytics companies, social media and networking platforms, collect information about a visitor’s online activities over time and across the NACC’s site and other online properties.  These third parties may change their tracking practices in response to DNT settings in your web browser and the NACC does not obligate these parties to honor DNT settings.  The NACC utilizes Google Analytics for our web analytics. A visitor may opt-out from its data being used by Google Analytics by visiting https:/ /tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.  To opt-out of internet based behavioral advertising visit http:/ /www.aboutads.info/choices or    http:/ /www.networkadvertising.org/choices.

Does NACC Share the Information It Receives/Collects?

The NACC may share a visitor’s personal information with its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, if any. The NACC may also share the information it collects with NACC’s advertisers and business partners. The NACC does not share email addresses.  The NACC is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of our advertisers or business partners and encourages visitors to read the posted privacy statement and user terms and conditions whenever interacting with, and prior to providing any personal information to, any third party website.

The NACC may use third parties to manage activities available on its websites such as web hosting, database management, order processing, and authentication. These third parties may have access to personally identifiable information submitted by Members who participate in those activities. The NACC instructs these third parties to use personally identifiable information only for the specific purpose for which it is collected, and not to sell, market or transfer such information to other entities except as needed to provide the specifically requested services.

The NACC posts and displays certain personally identifiable information about its Members on its websites and in the NACC Membership directory.

The NACC may use personally identifiable information in aggregate form to make its websites better and more responsive to the needs of both visitors and Members. This statistical compilation and analysis of information may also be used by NACC or be provided to others, in aggregate, for marketing, advertising or research purposes.

As the NACC continues to develop its business and services, it might be involved in an acquisition, sale or other transaction. If such a transaction occurs member information generally is one of the transferred business assets.  If substantially all of the NACC’s assets are acquired or otherwise transferred to another entity, member information may be one of the transferred assets.

The NACC releases or discloses account and other  information when it believes its release is appropriate or required to comply with any law; enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other applicable agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of the NACC, its Members, or others. This includes, but is not limited to exchanging information with other companies or organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

If at any time after submitting personal information to the NACC’s website a visitor may decide that it does not want to receive additional promotional or marketing information from the NACC, and may simply follow the “Opt-Out” procedures detailed below.

Security

The NACC makes efforts to safeguard and ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personally identifiable information submitted, by visitors to the NACC’s websites, and periodically reviews and updates its security measures and apply current technologies. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Although the NACC attempts to protect your personal information, it cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information a visitor transmits or provides to the NACC through its online products and services. Once the NACC receives a visitor’s transmission, however, it makes reasonable efforts to ensure its security on the NACC’s systems. The NACC currently uses First Data Global Gateway and Authorize.net as its credit card processors. When credit card information is transmitted, industry standard encryption is used.

About Children

NACC is concerned about the safety of children when they use the Internet. Pursuant to the Children’s Online Protection Act of 1998, NACC will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent.

“Linked-To Web Sites”

The NACC’s website may contain links, banners, widgets or advertisements that lead to other websites.  The NACC is not responsible for these other sites and so the other website’s posted privacy policies (not this policy) will govern the collection and uses of information submitted to them.  The NACC encourages website users to read the privacy statements of each website visited after leaving the NACC site to learn about how information submitted is used and or protected.

A visitor is encouraged to review these third parties’ individual privacy and user policies.
