Founder, Chef By Request
David Miller started Chef By Request after graduating from the prestigious Johnson and Wales
Culinary University as the first person in Illinois to hold a B.S. Degree in Culinary Arts.
Executive Chef: For over 17 years David led his culinary team to excellence, winning the 2004
American Culinary Federation’s Presidents Award and in 2013 was inducted into the Les Amis d’ Escoffier Society as a life time member.
President: Currently in this role David continues to expand Chef By Request as a leader in off
premise catering and event planning services. Still today, the company’s goal focus on new trends, community partnerships and unprecedented attention to detail.
David and his company, Chef By Request were recognized for their progress and community embracement by winning the overall Naperville Small Business of the Year Award in 2011. Since 2010 Chef By Request has has won the Best of Naperville Award five times. Other attributes to David’s career include 9 years of adjunct faculty teaching at College of DuPage and Harper College in Palatine. He is a 15 year certified executive chef in the National ACF.
Most recently David’s focus has been directed towards new relationships and development opportunity. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, President’s Circle member for North Central College and is in progress to open Downtown Naperville’s first ever Hotel Banquet Property. Elements at Water Street is the creative design for a riverfront event center soon to open on the 2nd floor of the new Hotel indigo at Water Street Naperville 2016.
