Praveen Thadani
President & CEO
Praveen Thadani was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Dental of Illinois on June 30, 2025. With more than 25 years of experience in the health care and insurance sectors, he brings extensive leadership expertise across consumer, commercial, and government health plan products. Most recently, Thadani served as President and CEO of Priority Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the second-largest health plan in Michigan and the third-largest provider-sponsored health plan in the nation. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles with Humana, Optum, and UnitedHealth, focusing on strategy, market development, revenue management, and operations.
Recognized for his leadership and contributions to the industry, Thadani was named one of Becker’s “Great Leaders in Health Care” and recognized as a 2024 Diversity Leader by Modern Healthcare. He is also deeply involved in community advocacy and currently serves as Board Chair for the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP). His past and present board memberships include Chicago Pacific Founders, Anderson Family Care, Cook County Foundation, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, and Illinois HMO Guaranty Association.
Thadani has strong Illinois roots and is returning to Lisle, where he raised his family. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago, as well as a Master of Science in Health Systems Management from Rush University in Chicago.
As President and CEO of Delta Dental of Illinois, Thadani is focused on advancing innovation, building on the organization’s strong foundation, and delivering on its mission to improve health and well-being across the state.
