President & CEO
John T. Maples is the President and CEO of Delta Dental of Illinois and its subsidiaries Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation, TruAssure Insurance Company, and ProTec Insurance Company. Prior to joining Delta Dental of Illinois in October 2018, Maples served on the Delta Dental of Illinois Board of Directors for 14 years, serving as Chairman from 2015 to 2017 and Vice-Chair from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, he was Vice-Chairman in 2011 and Chairman of the TruAssure Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014.
Maples has a distinguished career in the consumer goods market that spans over 30 years. He has a strong track record of growth and innovation combined with a steadfast focus on the customer experience. He has held leadership positions, including Chief Customer Officer, Division President, Chief Marketing Officer, General Manager, and Senior Vice President of Sales, at leading brands including Campbell’s Snacks, Snyder’s-Lance, ConAgra Foods, Primo Water, PepsiCo, and Quaker Oats.
Maples has a history of community involvement. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Students in Free Enterprise, an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. He is also a volunteer adult committee leader at Young Life and an active member at Williamson Chapel Methodist Church.
Maples graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
