Anthony Lopez serves as Director of Community Affairs for Nicor Gas, where he leads the company’s efforts to strengthen relationships and partnerships across the more than 657 communities within its service territory. In this role, Anthony oversees municipal and county engagement, franchise agreements, operations support, and coordination with emergency responders, building code officials, and public works departments. His team plays a vital role in ensuring that Nicor Gas remains a trusted community partner, responsive to local needs and aligned with the priorities of the cities, towns, and counties it serves.

With more than 13 years at Nicor Gas, Anthony has built a diverse portfolio of experience spanning energy efficiency, key account management, market strategy, and stakeholder engagement. His career has focused on developing innovative solutions that support customer growth, enhance energy performance, and strengthen collaboration between Nicor Gas and the communities it serves.

A dedicated advocate for civic collaboration, Anthony works closely with municipal leaders, community organizations, and industry partners to foster transparent communication and shared progress. Under his leadership, the Community Affairs organization continues to build long-term partnerships that promote safety, reliability, and sustainable growth across Nicor Gas’ service territory.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Anthony is deeply committed to civic and charitable involvement. He serves on the advisory council of the Illinois Restaurant Association and supports initiatives that advance affordability, economic development, and growth. His community service extends to causes focused on cancer research, suicide prevention, youth development, and assisting individuals with special needs, reflecting his belief in giving back and helping to build stronger, healthier communities.

Anthony earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Marketing from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he played four years on the baseball team, winning a national championship in 2010. He is also a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
