Off to the Races in Springfield

The 101st Illinois Legislative Session is underway.  Governor Pritzker recently delivered his State of the State address and we were listening.  Key issues he called for in the upcoming legislative session impacting the business community include: diversity and inclusion in hiring practices, clean energy legislation, and support of local government efforts to reduce property taxes and increase government consolidation.  All ideas we have interest in and will continue to monitor to ensure our Members are aware of bills presented in the legislative session as they come to light.

Government Affairs & Advocacy matters are constantly being relayed through our social media posts, within THIS monthly e-newsletter, as well as in our programming. On that note, we would like to formally announce the return of the Advocacy Day in Springfield! March 18th, we will be taking a road trip and ALL OF OUR Members are invited!

We are eager to help facilitate the flow of reliable information about our local, state and federal government and advocate on your behalf. As part of this, we believe getting our Members in direct contact with important State leaders at our State capital was a wise first step! Although still in the planning phases, we expect to learn about key policy issues impacting our businesses from the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, meet with our local legislators and see first-hand our legislative branch in action.  More details and pricing will be available soon.  If you are interested in participating or want more information, please contact me at Reba Osborne, Director of Government Affairs, rosborne@naperville.net or (630) 544-3387.
