Patti Minglin
Gottfried Woman of the Quarter Q&A

Q: Describe your business and what you do.
As the CEO of Go Girl Communications, I help small to medium-sized businesses craft and share purposeful, authentic content that truly connects with their audience. We specialize in social media strategy, email marketing, blog writing, and website content creation. I love working alongside my clients as an extension of their team, providing creative solutions and strategic guidance to foster meaningful engagement and drive their business goals.
Q: What do you love most about your work?
I absolutely love storytelling. Helping businesses tell their story in a way that feels real and relatable is so rewarding. I also enjoy the relationships I build with my clients. Watching their confidence grow as they see their content make an impact is such a fulfilling part of the work I do.
Q: What led you down your career path?
I’ve always been a storyteller at heart, whether through writing, marketing, or even standing on stage to share my own stories. I “grew up” on the sales and marketing side of the newspaper industry, where I learned the power of connecting with an audience through compelling stories and smart strategies. I never planned to be an entrepreneur—it was an unexpected path—but it allowed me to pursue my passion for helping businesses, especially women-led businesses, find their unique voice. As a woman leading my own business, I love supporting other women entrepreneurs and showing them what’s possible when we embrace creativity, strategy, and collaboration.
Q: What advice do you have for other women in business?
Trust yourself and your instincts. You don’t need to know everything to succeed, in fact, what you don’t know is often your greatest asset (shout out to Sarah Blakely for that little piece of knowledge). Also, surround yourself with people who believe in you and your vision—it’s those relationships that will carry you through the ups and downs of leading a business.
Q: Name someone in your life who inspires you and tell us why.
My inspiration comes from an entire lineage of strong women who shaped my life. My mom, my sisters, my cousins, my aunts, and now my daughter and nieces—they’re all incredible examples of strength, kindness, and confidence. These women taught me how to lead with grace, laugh through the chaos, and believe in my abilities without hesitation. And while the women were a force to be reckoned with, the men in my family were just as influential. They never questioned what a girl could do—they championed it. Growing up, I never doubted my potential because I saw it reflected in the way my family lived and encouraged one another. It’s that spirit I carry into everything I do today.
Q: What other passions and hobbies do you have?
I love storytelling, not just for business but as a performer as well. You can often find me sharing personal stories on stage at events like The People Tree in Naperville. I also enjoy reading, journaling, and spending as much time as possible with my friends and my ever-growing family (we just added our third grandchild this fall!).
But honestly, I’m somewhat of a homebody. I love cozy evenings at home listening to vinyl records while I try a new recipe. Although I love being social and connecting with others, there’s nothing quite like the comfort of home and the simple joy of slowing down and being fully present.
Q: Aside from the Chamber, how do you stay connected within the Naperville community?
In addition to my involvement with the Chamber, I serve on the Board of Directors for Beautifully EmpowHERed, a nonprofit focused on empowering women and girls through mental health counseling, career exploration, and transformative workshops. I’m also honored to be part of D203’s Workforce Innovation Council, which helps prepare students for future career success. Beyond these roles, I stay active in local events, storytelling performances, and collaborations with small businesses. Supporting and uplifting the incredible people and organizations that make our community vibrant is something I’m truly passionate about.
