3 Common Reasons Organizations Join the NACC

Happy New Year!

With the new year comes many new Members that will be making the commitment to grow their businesses through the many outlets the Chamber provides. When meeting with all the different organizations that are thinking of joining the Chamber, I come across three main reasons: to grow my business, to develop myself or my employees, and for advocacy.

To Grow My Business:

The face to face connection is still one of the most impactful ways to build relationships and trust in a business transaction. Attending events such as our Business Power Hour (free to members) or where you are able to stand up and give your 30-second elevator pitch or joining one of our lead TEAMs are great ways to start building your relationships which will, in turn, grow your business.

To Develop Myself or My Employees:

One of the things that I hear most often from employers is that they are having difficulty filling open positions or keeping good employees. When you give your employees an opportunity to attend a professional development event you are showing them that you value them enough to invest time and money in them. Young Professionals Network and Women in Business are great options for development. The NACC has also partnered with local universities like North Central College and Benedictine to offer tuition discounts for members and spouses.

Advocacy:

There is a lot of information out there on new legislation that is oftentimes skewed one direction or the other depending on the news source. Our Director of Government Affairs, Reba Osborne is here to provide facts and keep our members informed on how specific legislation can impact their businesses. Our Business Works meetings are a great resource for the hot button issues that can impact your business negatively or positively and a great source of legislative information.

No matter what your reasoning is for joining the chamber, our Membership Team is here to support you through your journey. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time with questions or feedback.
