Foundations of our Future
The State of the City Address presented by the current Mayor of Naperville serves as an inspiring recap of the year’s events. The discussion highlights the monumental progression of the area’s quality of life. Additionally, the address also turns an eye towards the future, as we learn all the programs and initiatives scheduled for the upcoming year.
The Mayor will address Foundations of our Future in this year’s State of the City.
As we look forward to a post-pandemic future, this year’s State of the City address remembers the life-changing events of 2020; reflects on our commitment as a local government to further safety, financial stability, and equality and inclusion; and responds to the challenges of a new day. The foundations that drive our work – our services, our people, our programs, and our commitment to local economic health – provided stability in a time of great uncertainty, but we also know that we cannot rest on our foundations alone. While progress will always remain rooted in these four areas, our future rests in bold action, creativity derived from our strengths, and, on the heels of a year that showed us nothing is impossible, pushing our boundaries.
