My name is Nadine Scodro and I am excited to be a part of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce as the Government Affairs Manager. I’m excited to get to know our Members and elected officials in an effort to create connections that lead to favorable policy and advocacy for Naperville area businesses.
I have served as an elected official and have experience as an entrepreneur. As a REALTOR®, I experienced the long hours, the need to put clients first, and a constantly changing industry that required flexibility and the need to stay up to date on resources and innovation in the industry. I enjoyed my experiences and the opportunity to work closely with folks in their real estate journey.
As an elected official, I served for 16 years as a school board member for my local elementary school district; the district I attended as a student! For the last four years, I served as President of our board during the challenging times of the COVID pandemic. I retired from the board in April 2023 and have turned my attention toward municipal government. One of the most valuable takeaways from my years in public service are the connections I’ve made with my state representatives and the ability to discuss and implement policy that benefits communities.
In my previous position, I facilitated direct connections between our members and local/state elected officials throughout the Chicagoland suburbs. Such interactions not only allowed officials to understand the concerns of their constituents better but also highlighted the invaluable resources our members can offer in the policymaking process. As the Government Affairs Manager, one of my key objectives is to help our Members build these essential connections, fostering a robust sense of advocacy and amplifying the voice of NACC Members on local, state, and national levels.
On a more personal level, I’m the proud mom of three wonderful girls and one fur baby. My parents instilled in me a passion for travel and volunteerism, both of which I enjoy immensely. My family and I love a trip off the grid as well as relaxing at a picturesque beach. I also enjoy distance running, hiking, reading, and generally spending time outdoors whenever possible.
I’m excited to get my feet wet and jump right in with the hard-working Members of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce.
If you are interested in advocacy or have a concern that I can help you with, or you’d just like to say “hello”, please feel free to contact me at nscodro@naperville.net.
